Opium Power is delighted to announce that Phase 1 of their Hampshire BESS project, in partnership with South Somerset District Council, is now live with Phase 2, currently in-build, planned to go live in May 2022.
Now energised, this scheme in Hampshire adds an extra 40 Megawatts to the UK battery infrastructure with a further 20 Megawatts coming online in Hampshire by the end of May 2022.
Opium Power is developing, funding and operating large scale battery storage projects connected directly to the UK’s power distribution network. These batteries bring valuable flexibility to the grid, enabling it to harness increasing volumes of renewable generation, as well as supporting an energy system that is clean, affordable and secure.
