Opium Power is proud to have won the award for Utility Scale Storage Project of the Year at the recent Solar & Storage Live Awards for their latest BESS project in Fareham, in partnership with South Somerset District Council.
These prestigious industry awards are designed to showcase innovation, resilience and excellence within the solar and storage sector and the whole team at Opium Power is delighted to have been recognised for their excellence in this field.
Opium Power’s Fareham storage project is a 40MW 1C BESS and is the largest battery system in the UK to be owned by a local authority. Consisting of 12 BESS units each with 3.2727MWh capacity totalling 44.724MWh and 12 3.45MW PCS units totalling 41.4MW and has been connected to the grid through a 550m connection, it has been rated by independent technical analysts as one of the best quality builds that has been seen in the sector.
